An impressive colour and a very healthy way to start your day with my beetroot juice.  When you increase your consumption of beetroot you may experience beeturia, this is when your urine turns a pink or red colour, don’t be alarmed it’s completely harmless and temporary.

Good for digestion as beetroot is rich in betaine, which is supports the production of stomach acid. It also contains nitrates which help to lower blood pressure by producing a substance known as nitric oxide in the blood. This helps widen blood vessels and arteries improving the flow of blood around the body. Combined with the other fresh ingredients this juice is full of vitamins and minerals to help you to start your day right.

What you need:
1 medium raw beetroot
2 sticks of celery
1 carrot
½ cucumber
1 apple
½ lemon, peeled

What you do:
Scrub the vegetables
Pass through a juicer
Add ice to serve (optional)
