Pear and banana smoothie

Start your day right with this delicious and nutritious Pear and Banana smoothie. Great for breakfast, post workout or for an afternoon snack. 

Good for…

Rich in essential fat acids in the form of chia seeds which contain omega 3 fatty acids, iron, zinc and calcium. The pear and banana are rich in vitamin B6 and C, beta-carotene and fibre to improve digestion. Almonds are a rich source of manganese and vitamin E.

What you need:
1 small pear, roughly chopped
1 banana
About 100 ml almond milk
1 tbsp chia seeds
½ cinnamon

What you do:
Blend the pear, banana and almond milk together until smooth, adding just enough juice to loosen the mixture to a drinking consistency. Pour into a glass and add a spoonful of chia seeds, leave for 10-15 minutes and enjoy.

If you’re up early take this to work with you. Don’t forget to shake it before drinking. NB you can use any fruit.
